How did I reconnect with my ancestors?
I reconnected with my ancestors by going to the place itself—the very spot where, among other things, they were born, lived, had experiences, and ultimately moved on.
During those days when I was in Jajce, I was actually supposed to be at the sea, at Galevac, on a constellation retreat with our constellation association.
But things worked out so that I had to cancel it, yet I knew and felt that I still needed something that week, that I had to ignite something within myself.
How things open up when they need to and why listen to your inner voice
I decided to go to Jajce, my grandfather’s hometown. I knew I was going for a reason, as this trip had been calling to me for a long time. I
went, not knowing exactly for what, other than to introduce myself and my daughter to our roots. To the places on this earth that shaped us and brought us to Zagreb.
Besides a great sense of luck and gratitude, I also felt a great sense of pride; coming from such a wonderful place is truly fulfilling.
But it wasn’t until I returned, when a dear woman asked me in the middle of a bodywork session, “So, what did you go to Jajce for?” that it came out of me: “For courage and strength!”
Well, yes! My grandfather was incredibly brave; he packed up and headed off in an unknown direction in search of a better life and with the desire to get out in time when you feel things aren’t going well. The strength it takes for that, and for constantly starting over, must be immense. Leaving everything you’ve built and invested in, and telling yourself and your wife that starting tomorrow you’re going to live in a completely new place and that everything will be fine—that’s no small feat. And then to actually create everything our grandfather created is a miracle!
As many ancestors, as many strange gifts!
So that’s what I went for!
So when they ask me, “Why the ancestors? Why keep connecting with them?” Well, it’s precisely to awaken their qualities within ourselves, because we all have them; we just need to become aware that we do!!
Now I know that I too carry courage and strength, now I know where that need comes from to go and build, and not stay in one place!! It
was a LIVE BLESSING OF THE ANCESTORS and I thank him for that!
In the key periods of our lives, our ancestors are very much present. We don’t always recognize them, but by opening our senses to these sources and to what came before us, we unlock great potentials and become more prepared to recognize not only their presence but also the qualities within ourselves. I knew
my great-grandmother, this grandfather’s wife, much better, so I can definitely recognize her determination and fearlessness in certain situations. And I always think of her.
Who knows how many more cards we can turn over, how many little buttons we can light up!
LET’S GO TOGETHER!
Come to the workshops!
